The markets have priced in the positive developments they were witnessing. However, today, with the recent declines, they need significant positive developments in areas such as growth, inflation, tariffs, interest rates, and employment data to regain momentum.
The Federal Reserve (the “Fed”) has not changed interest rates for five consecutive meetings. Fed Chairman Jerome Powell and most members of the Federal Open Market Committee are hesitant to lower interest rates at this time, waiting to see more developments or triggering factors before taking such a step.
The dollar rose by approximately 2% last month, which is considered a positive factor as it indicates that there has not been a complete loss of confidence in the currency.
